At Mount Gravatt Mazda, we always believe in getting behind a great cause.

It was a hairy affair on Wednesday 11 March as two of our wonderful employees Janae & Lisa put on their superhero capes & committed to making a BIG change in the fight against blood cancer by raising money and awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation. Locks were shed and coloured as they embraced the opportunity to make a difference and help beat blood cancer. As a local family business, we know only too well the devastating consequences and effect of this heinous disease. As individuals, we will all have our own experiences and stories – such is the indiscriminate nature of cancer.

What is the World’s Greatest Shave?

2020 marks the Leukaemia Foundation’s 22nd World’s Greatest Shave campaign, making it one of Australia’s longest running and most loved fundraising events.

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to helping more Australians with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related disorders survive their blood cancer and live a better quality of life.

The Leukaemia Foundation aims to reach a bold goal: zero lives lost to blood cancer by 2035.

We encourage everyone to get involved in this great cause. While the official shaving and colouring of hair has ended, fundraising continues all year.

Events like this are a powerful reminder of the important role we all play in helping fund imperative research into finding cures not just for blood cancers, but for a whole range of diseases that still affect people to this day.

Shaving or colouring locks and raising money is a tangible expression of the values of service, empathy and compassion and given the commitment, we feel very proud of these two ladies who embodied these vales in abundance. Congratulations and well done Janae & Lisa.
