MGM'S RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS 2022

Mount Gravatt Mazda is just as passionate about our community involvement as we are about our customers’ satisfaction. We strongly believe that we are responsible for giving something back to the community in which we do business. To act on this belief, every year, we partake in our 'Random Acts of Kindness' community crusade, where we shower our Brisbane community with acts of kindness, including compassionate gestures, community involvement and genuine acts of goodwill.

Even though kindness should be part of our everyday life, it's easy to get busy and sidetracked. We hope that our Random Act of Kindness crusade reminds people to bring kindness to the top of their list...every day.

Kindness is contagious.  Kindness inspires kindness.  Let's keep the daisy chain of kindness going. Make room in your day to practice kind acts on your own and tag us @mountgravattmazda.

We kicked off our #RAOK crusade by paying it forward to the #QueenslandPolice Service members of South Brisbane District in recognition of their service and working together to make our communities safe.
Chief Superintendent Bill Graham kindly accepted our appreciation plaque along with members from the Holland Park Police station.

What could be a better surprise at the pump than having someone else pay for your fuel? Our kindness commandos were able to do just that for a number of lucky random community members looking to fill up at our local Shell station.

Andre, Tom & Helen (not pictured) were delighted when we #paiditforward and sprinkled some random kindness their way!

In honour of our RAOK Community Crusade, we decided to #payitforward to our very own community at Mount Gravatt Mazda...our team.
A wise man’s mama once said, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” All our crew are unique — each one made up of different ingredients. Each brings their own flavour to the business and today, we took the opportunity to say thanks a choco-lot (!) for all that they do and for their A*M*A*Z*I*N*G contribution to MGM and our customers.

Mount Gravatt Mazda visited Southern Cross Care Duhig Village with morning tea and a brand new bingo set in tow. Our aim... to #payitforward and brighten the lives of the nursing home residents and staff.

Queensland's COVID-19 spread hit Duhig Village hard, prompting lockdowns and leaving residents confined to their rooms. Living with COVID-19 has presented huge challenges and stress for their most vulnerable, families and staff. Today, the beautiful residents and employees were able to mix and mingle and enjoy a scone or two.

We can't wait to see the bingo set in action and hear some fun bingo calls... Number 3 - Cup of Tea, Goodness Me, A Flea!

Thank you to Chris' IGA Carina for their delicious sandwich and scone platters. We are so grateful for our community partnerships and support.

This week we had the privilege of meeting some of the driving force behind the Community Connection & Belonging Project. The project is a locally-based initiative aiming to link people with diverse life experiences (housing insecurity, homelessness and isolation) together through social connection, and create a friendlier, more connected and empowered community in the neighbourhoods of Annerley, Moorooka, Rocklea and Yeronga.

To aid their weekly community cook-up lunch (Mondays @ 12.30 pm) we dontated a new food processor and a new set of kitchen knives to help their kitchen crew chop, stir and serve wholesome meals for those needing support.

Our kindness commandos hit our local Chemist Warehouse to #payitforward by administering some prescriptions of joy and happiness. This week, six patrons had their scripts filled on behalf of MGM.

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS | Buying Groceries [🛒]

Unsuspecting customers get their groceries paid for! Our Surprise Squad was flooded with good feelings and warm fuzzies when we swiped our MGM card at the checkout to cover the grocery bill for Patricia, Bill and Doug at our local Woolies at #MountGravatt. We love brightening the day of strangers. Our buckets are now full of joy, appreciation and gratitude.

Sunflower Place, located in Mount Gravatt, enables women to reset, rebuild and reconnect. This is done through support and referral services to vulnerable women requiring assistance to rebuild their lives.

MGM's kindness commandos dropped off care hampers (including toasters, kettles, cutlery and choccies) for 8 women seeking to establish a new life and a new start. We wish these women nothing but the best for a bright future ahead.

Let's get ready to tumble! Our Surprise Squad hit the WaterSpirit Laundromat Greenslopes today and sent Thea, Juan and Blake into a spin by #payingitforward and covering their washing and drying costs.

It's safe to say we didn't hamper(!) anyone's fun. We just created lots of SMILES!

Our Kindness Commandos just couldn't help them shelf's (!) Meet Kaylee, the owner of The Bookworm's Local -Street Library. Kaylee is an English whizz and has loved books her whole life. So much so, that she wanted to share her passion with the local #MountGravatt community. This lovely home for books is planted in her front yard, open from dawn until dusk, 7 days a week, and everyone is welcome to come and borrow or donate books.
We visited Kaylee during the week to gift her some books and make a donation towards her fundraising for some new shelving.
Keep up the amazing work, Kaylee and thank you 🙏 for making lasting connections inside our community.
 

To ease the stress on families at a time when costs of living have skyrocketed, MGM has #paiditforwad to the families of Camp Hill State Infants and Primary School by creating an 'Inclusion Allowance' to assist parents and caregivers with the cost of excursions, camps and extracurricular activities to allow children to feel included and not isolated.

We hope this allowance helps children gain access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom ⛹️‍♂️🏇🏕️☀️
