At Mount Gravatt Mazda we recognise the importance of being integrated within our local community and giving back. We consider ourselves as RAOKtivists- Random Acts of Kindness activists.
At MGM, we think every day should be Random Acts of Kindness Day but February 17th marks the official date.
We were able to capture kindness through GIVIT- a not-for-profit organisation connecting those who have with those who need, in a private and safe way.
We were connected with a 38-year-old lady with complex disabilities, moving from her family home for first time to her own unit. Her father has been admitted to an aged care facility and unfortunately can no longer care for her. She was in need of a stick vacuum cleaner to help perform domestic duties.
We also pledged a Bluetooth speaker to a young bushfire survivor who lost everything in the New Year’s Eve bushfires. GIVIT are slowly replacing the most important items he lost which includes this speaker which he used with his iPad to play his relaxation and anxiety music along with apps prescribed by his psychologist. He has multiple disabilities and uses this equipment for relaxation therapy each day.
It is a great honour for all of us at Mount Gravatt Mazda to have the opportunity to give back to our community and strive daily to forge lasting and meaningful relationships. We do this not only by providing exceptional customer service but also through our enriched community involvement. Our dealership is just as passionate about community involvement as we are about our customers’ satisfaction.
We invite you to look for ways to make kindness the norm in your daily life. Random Acts of Kindness Day is a great day to begin building a new routine which means including intentional moments of kindness, laughter and delight. It also means taking a moment to enjoy and recognize when those things are happening.
Kindness starts with one. One smile. One compliment. One cup of coffee. One conversation.
Let’s lift the fog and make kindness the norm.
