Everyone Belongs | Celebrating Harmony

This week marks the 20 year anniversary of Harmony Day, a day dedicated to celebrating Australia’s cultural diversity and sharing what we have in common.

Harmony Day is about cultural respect and inclusiveness for everyone who calls Australia home – Australia is a vibrant and multicultural country,  from the oldest continuous cultures of our first Australians to the cultures of our newest arrivals from all around the world. With 49% of Australian's born overseas* our cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths and is at the heart of who we are. It makes Australia a great place to live.

At MGM, we encourage everyone to appreciate and celebrate the diversity in our community and acknowledge that many areas of our business benefit from the richness of our cultural diversity.

So today we want to showcase and acknowledge our cultural diversity:

With so many culturally and linguistically diverse communities, friendly people, sunshine, food and nature and so much more why wouldn’t you want to live in the land down under?

With my role as Guest Experience Co-ordinator, not only do I work with an amazing group of multicultural people but I also have the privilege of meeting people like myself whose background is made up of places all over the world, who speak more than one language and who were born in Australia and consider themselves ‘Australian’.

I can’t wait to welcome you into the MGM Family.

Ari

I was born in Australia with my family previously coming over from Greece; I grew up speaking both fluent English and Greek. We are so lucky to be living in such a great country that is very diverse with a pleasant and easygoing culture.

I’ve only been at MGM a short time but already feel like part of the family, as everyone here have welcomed me with all their heart! I am so happy and lucky to be a part of such a great group of people and friends!

I look forward to seeing you in our showroom.

Bib

I moved to Australia in 1985 with my family and speak fluent English and Arabic, all 13 dialects.

To some, multiculturalism is simply a diverse population, and a non-discriminatory immigration policy. These are the foundations of Australian multiculturalism, but it consists of much more:
Love, respect, diversity, gender equality, honour and having a strong moral compass.

I invite you to experience the MGM Difference today.

Filippo

I was born in Sicily, Italy and moved to Australia in 2011. I speak Italian, English and Spanish.

I truly believe that Australia is a great place to live because of it’s beauty, good vibes, fair and honest culture, and it is always evolving.  I am proud to raise my young family in such a great country.

My role at MGM allows me to continually learn from others and I really value the opportunity to meet and get to know new people each and every day.

I look forward to sharing in your buying experience.

I was born in China, and grew up in Hong Kong from the age of ten; I am fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, Taiwanese and English. I moved to Australia 6 years ago and couldn’t be happier; Australia is a beautiful place to live. My favourite things are the people, the sunshine and the fresh air!

I joined the MGM family about nine months ago and I’m so excited to be a part of such an amazing team. Helping our guests into the right car is such a rewarding feeling.

I hope to welcome you into the MGM Showroom soon.

I was born in Sydney and grew up with an adoptive family, just another wonderful example of our Australian diversity. I have been with Mount Gravatt Mazda for 14 years, and one of the greatest components of my role is meeting new people and hearing their stories. I enjoy getting to know all about their different cultures, traditions and way of life.

MGM is an enjoyable place to work because of our people. With such a diverse mix of age, race and gender, we wouldn’t be the family that we are today without each and every one of our team members.

I look forward to meeting you, and getting to know your story.

Roberto

I was born in Australia after my parents came here to raise their family. My Dad is from Northern Italy and my Mother was born in Sicily.

For me, Australia is a vibrant and multicultural country.  Everyone brings some of their culture with them and what makes Australia great is our ability to respect each person within our society.

I am extremely proud to be a part of a team made from many cultures and diverse backgrounds… we are a mixing pot of everything and I love the fact that we are an inclusive and respectful team.

My sales team and I are looking forward to helping you with your next Mazda

I was born in China and moved to Australia when I was 33 years old, and relocated to Brisbane 3 years later. I can speak fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

I have been working for MGM for 4 years. I am so happy with our friendly multicultural team and professional management. I enjoy working in MGM because all of our staff respect each other and have a strong inclusive culture.

Next time you visit MGM, I look forward to meeting you.
