Childhood Cancer Support
For almost 50 years, Childhood Cancer Support has been keeping families together during their child's cancer treatment in a compassionate and supportive environment.
As you know, community is at the core of everything we do at Mount Gravatt Mazda and forming a connection with Childhood Cancer Support in 2020 was a natural decision.
WHO IS CHILDHOOD CANCER SUPPORT?
Childhood Cancer Support has been supporting the Queensland paediatric oncology community and families since 1975 with practical, hands-on family support, home-away-from-home accommodation and transport services for children with cancer, and their families from regional, rural and remote locations.
Childhood Cancer Support meets the individual needs of each family. Their support extends to all family members including children with cancer, their parents and guardians, siblings, grandparents, and other close relations.
Childhood Cancer Support is committed to supporting and providing families with a community that cares because this is a battle that cannot be fought alone.
A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Childhood Cancer Support provides fully furnished accommodation units and transport services to and from the hospital - so families can always be with together.
1 ON 1 SUPPORT & COUNSELLING
Childhood Cancer Support offers a family social work service, that provides support to all family members during their stay in Brisbane and after families return home
COMPLIMENTARY TRANSFERS
Childhood Cancer Support understands that getting around Brisbane can be challenging. That’s why they provide free hospital and airport transport services for families.
SPREADING SMILES AT CHRISTMAS
Christmas is a special time for most of us, but for families who have children with cancer, it can be a daunting holiday for many reasons. It can be a milestone in their child's cancer journey, it could be their last Christmas together as a family.
Since 2020 and with the help of our wonderful community, we are proud to partner with Childhood Cancer Support. Every year we are able to spread smiles and a little cheer over the Christmas period for families who are facing a battle many of us cannot truly imagine.
Each year around November is the time when we begin to collect new toys through our annual Festive Toy Drive. These toys are gifted through Childhood Cancer Support to not only the children undergoing cancer treatment but also to their siblings, as this is a journey no one goes through alone.
